We require a 3 night stay on long weekends and holidays.

Payment can be made by Cash, Cheque, EFT or Credit Card (3% processing fee added to credit card transactions). We do have debit in the store but only debit tap so the max transaction is $100.

All cottages are NON-SMOKING. If guests smoke outside, we ask they ensure their butts are in the ash trays and not littered on the ground. If guests are caught smoking in the cottages, they will be asked to leave immediately with no refunds. Please keep windows closed when smoking as the smell of smoke will go into the cottage which will result in cleaning fees charged to the credit card on file.

The max capacity per cottage is based on fire code regulations. It is important guests follow the capacities noted. If guests are found to be disobeying the maximums, they will be asked to leave immediately with no refunds. Children are included in the maximum capacities. Not only is this important to comply with fire codes but our septic systems are only meant to accommodate the noted amount of guests. We will refuse any request for extra people in a cottage to ensure the safety of our guests and our equipment.

We do allow cottage renters to bring their own boats. Note we need to know ahead of time in order to make a space at our docks. We also as you DO NOT bring your boat down to check in. We do not have a boat launch and there is very little room to turn around. There are several public boat launches nearby where we can direct you to. We also as you leave your trailers in our additional parking area opposed to in the main parking area.

Deposits are Non Refundable. For situations that allow, we will work with our customers. If you cancel with less than 5 weeks notice the full amount will be charged to your credit card. Due to the ridiculous amount of cancellations we have received in 2022 we will be making ZERO exceptions to this.

Wildwood Cottages reserves the right to take legal action for any damages caused by renters as well as their guests (against all parties involved) if required, as well as subsequent damages related to the inability to rent the cottage while they are being returned to their original state.

We do have WIFI but we call it country WIFI. Some days its amazing and some days its not. We are limited to internet options living out in the country - we even have Starlink now….but its not as amazing as Elon Musk made it sound :)

Wildwood Cottages is not responsible for acts of nature that may interrupt your stay. Things like power outages and trees falling are natural occurrences that may happen if there are unusual storms in the area. However we will work as fast as we can to get everything back up and running for your stay with us.

Upon booking we require a credit card. If cancellation occurs less than 5 weeks prior to your arrival, we reserve the right to charge your credit card for the full balance due (including credit card fees). We will charge the credit card for the remainder of the balance upon learning of your need to cancel. We can provide you a copy of the paid invoice for you to submit to your travel insurance. We HIGHLY suggest getting travel insurance.

If you cancel and use your deposit for a future stay the cancellation policy stays in affect from the original booking. This is to deter people from cancelling and stating they will rebook so they don’t have to pay the full payment and then cancelling as they are now more than 5 weeks out. If you need clarification on this please reach out.

We do operate hot tubs for our winter cottages ranging anywhere from mid October to end of April (please confirm availability when booking). The hot tubs are fully sanitized and chlorinated between guests. We take all precautions to ensure the hot tubs are as clean as possible and safe to use! We do not take responsibility for any reactions people may have to the chemicals or any damaged or faded clothing (often due to chlorine). We ask you do not put anything in the hot tubs as this can interfere with the products that we use and that are recommended by the hot tub company. Often times to ensure water is perfect between guests we will empty half of the hot tub and refill it. We always do our very best to ensure they are back up to temperature upon arrival at 2pm, however there can be a few extra hours needed to ensure temperatures reach the max of 104. We appreciate your understanding in this matter as this is done so there is no actual down time between users and so that everyone gets the maximum use out of the hot tubs during their stay! The hot tubs are 4 person hot tubs and we ask this maximum be followed when using them. We also ask you follow the hot tub rules sign in the cottage to ensure the safe use for everyone.

We provide 1 tote of wood per night for our winter cottage rentals for the indoor wood burning fireplace. This wood is not to be used in the outdoor fire pits. We will not provide the free wood during the fall or spring when it is still warm outside. The wood is meant to be a source of heat. If we are made aware that the fire is on and you have your windows and doors open we will not continue to provide you with the free wood. The wood heats up the cottage very quickly - please do not load the fireplace and then open doors to counteract how hot you have made it!

We are located on a steep hill and this is to make all guest that the hill can be difficult to get up in the winter. 4 wheel drive vehicles with snow tires are ok but small 2 wheel drive vehicles and those with summer tires are not recommended.. We suggest if you do not have a vehicle with 4 wheel drive with winter tires you leave your vehicle at the top of the hill in bad weather (we can assist you with bringing down your belongings in our side by side). The road according to the township is an unmaintained road and is to be used at your own risk and we are unable to assist you if you are stuck.

We do not permit guests to light off fireworks on our property. If you are found to be lighting fireworks off, you will be asked to leave immediately with no refunds. This is a safety and insurance hazard.
